Facilties

The property is a detached two storey stone built converted barn, the accommodation provides a warm and cosy feel in the winter and yet a bright and airy feel in the summer.  

Downstairs is a large well appointed kitchen diner and a large sitting room with a cast iron electric ‘wood burning’ stove.

Upstairs consists of two double bedrooms (one with twin beds) both en suite1 & 2.

The Barn has a ceramic tiled floor downstairs, with rugs, and is carpeted upstairs.

There is a large 6 x seater dining table and chairs, a ‘cereal cupboard'….as well as a wall mounted Freeview TV and a DB Radio.

Being keen cooks ourselves we have provided everything we think you need in the kitchen to make and eat proper meals…  There is a large fridge freezer, a ceramic halogen hob, microwave, and a washing machine. Plus normal appliances such as toaster, coffee percolator, kettle etc. Safety equipment includes both a Fire Extinguisher and a Fire Blanket, and mains Fire Alarms.

The main bedroom is bright and airy and has an excellent bed with an ‘orthopaedic’ mattress that is really very comfortable.  The bedroom enjoys a en-suite bathrooms with shower, lavatory and basin. The main bedroom also benefits from a Freeview TV.

The twin bedroom is large and airy and has an en-suite bathroom with shower, lavatory and basin plus a heated towel radiator. The twin benefits from a lovely view over the paddocks to the rear of the property

We like to make your stay special with a few local goodies to start you off...

The patio area has lights, a gas BBQ, a cast iron wood stove as well as the table, chairs and sun umbrella…there is an outside mains socket as well.  During the summer it is a beautiful place to sit out and have a meal and a glass of wine, or whatever.

Barn is complete with:

At a Glance

The Barn is airy and spacious - warm and cosy in winter and light and cool in the summer heat.  The living room has 2 x large french windows.  Outside there is plenty of space to relax including the use of the top garden, a dedicated guest patio with a cast iron log burner (hearth type stove3 and a gas BBQ (summer only),  and the paddocks for games (weather permitting) (see more pictures in the Gallery).

There is on site parking for one car4 (additional parking may be available on request).

The owners live in the main house, which is separate and away from the Barn, but part of the broader small holding. 

During your stay the owners are happy to help provide local information or consider any requests that will enhance your stay.  

Notes:

  • The sleeping accommodation and bathrooms are on the first floor and only accessible via the staircase. 
  • The small landing and room layout upstairs makes it unsuitable for wheelchair users.
  • We can provide a small basket of logs to start you off.  Further logs may be available to purchase from us subject to availability or they can be bought in nets from the local farmer's store.
  • Charging of electric cars is not included in the rental and is subject to additional fee - please see tariff page.
  • Please note that unfortunately we are unable to allow commercial type vans or any additional camper or other type of mobile accommodation on to the property.
  • The Barn is offered as a self-catering holiday let and furnished & decorated accordingly and we must ensure that it is available to the right standard and cleanliness for future guests. Due to bad experiences in the past we are unable to have guests who are travelling on a commercial basis undertaking activities that might bring work site debris, dust or any other substances into the barn that might cause damage to the carpets and/or furnishings. If in doubt the lead guest must agree with the owners as part of the booking process.
  • We apologise but we cannot accept any pets and it is strictly no smoking in the barn.
